Louisiana officers arrest three men on multiple drug charges

Law enforcement officers in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, know that drug crimes can affect the whole community. Crackdowns and sting operations are regularly conducted to apprehend and punish those who engage in illegal drug activities. An individual accused of a drug crime or who is under investigation for illegal drug activities must be mindful of constitutional rights under such circumstances.

Three Louisiana residents were taken into custody recently for alleged drug crimes in the second sweep of a Louisiana drug crackdown operation. The arrests were made in Welsh, Louisiana, during the early morning after eight months of investigation. Authorities served warrants and searched each residence in question.

The three suspects are now facing multiple criminal charges related to crack cocaine. According to the report, a 27-year-old man is facing charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and drug possession in the presence of minor, together with possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute. Cocaine possession with the intent to distribute, money laundering, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia are among the charges filed against a 33-year-old man. The third suspect, a 36-year-old man, was accused of possession of cocaine, money laundering, crack cocaine possession with the intent to distribute and possession of illegal drugs in the presence of juveniles.

Being accused of a crime can be a devastating experience for any Louisiana resident. Drug charges can affect an individual in many ways, ranging from severe penalties to limited employment opportunities after the case is over. These defendants, however, have the right to contest the charges until they are proven guilty. Doing so may lower penalties or get the charges dismissed altogether.
